New Delhi: The Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Ek Villain' has opened to packed theatres today and the footfalls suggest massive numbers at box office for Day 1. Release in around 2,000 screens in India, the flick which also stars Reteish Deshmukh in a pivotal, is expected to generate over Rs 10 cr business today.

“#EkVillain opening day figures [STUPENDOUS] will come as a shocker for many. This film takes Mohit Suri in an altogether different league”, tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.

The musical thriller has brought up a huge respite for viewers who were looking for a necessary substitute to last week's non-sensible ‘Humshakals'.

However, this Sajid Khan directorial has crossed Rs 50 cr mark quite easily in less than a week's time but from hereon its journey is going to get tougher since the fourth installment of Hollywood's successful franchise Transformers has also hit the screens today and keen interest is witnessed among its fans.

In just six days, Humshakals garnered a stupendous Rs 53.23 cr nett in India and according to a leading daily on Thursday it has managed Rs 3 cr business.

Since large number of screens is now occupied by Ek Villain and to some extent Transformers- Age Of Extinction, Humshakals has witnessed a massive drop in its collection.

Three weeks old Holiday starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakashi Sinha continues to make footfalls at the theatres and within twenty one days it minted Rs 110.03 cr nett in India.

"Holiday Week 1 - Rs 68.69 cr ... Week 2 - Rs 31.05 cr ... Week 3 - Rs 10.29 cr. Grand total: Rs 110.03 cr nett. India biz. HIT", confirms Adarsh.
