New Delhi: He is already an established star down south cinema with numerous Filmfare and a National Award in his kitty but still Dhanush prefers unconventional role for his movies like ‘Shamitabh', the one which is set for this week release.

The upcoming movie has him with the voice of the legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan who is also playing the lead role. The trailer has also created an intriguing aura around the story line which looks quite interesting and is always expected from an R Balki flick.

“I look for a strong script. I believe that a strong script can make or destroy a star. So, I look for a meaty script and then I give it my all,” Dhanush was quoted by a leading news as saying.

While Bollywood debut flick Raanjhana too saw him in an unconventional role following, which alike South cinema became a star here in B-town. Yet the actor is hungry of strong scripts, which have a fresh appeal. “The concept of the film is brilliant. The story is strong and fresh. R Balki (filmmaker) had a new story to tell... These days, one can't say that the story is new because most of the stories have already been told. But Shamitabh's plot is different,” says Dhanush.

The actor, who also shot to fame with his ‘Kolavari Di' number, is confident to impress all his fans with her performance in the flick, “I play the role of an aspiring actor who eventually becomes one. Then there is Amitji, who gives this character his voice. Now, why and how this happens is what the rest of the script is about. When these two talents come together, ego-clashes happen,” says Dhanush.

“There's so much to learn still. Every time you become complacent, God gives you one tight slap. I hope this learning never stops”, added Dhanush who still calls himself an ‘aspiring actor' in real life.

Presented by Eros International, produced by RK Damani, Sunil Lulla, Gauri Shinde, Rakesh Jhunjhuwaala and Abhishek Bachchan, Shamitabh also starring Akshara Haasan is scheduled to release on February 6.
