New Delhi: Dia Mirza is all set to tie knot with beau Sahil Sangha today evening in a lavish wedding at chattarpur farms.
As per the latest reports Bollywood actor Boman Irani will be doing Dia's 'kanyadaan'. Boman is a fatherly figure to Dia Mirza and all the rituals of the bride's father would be performed by him.
Speaking to media on the eve of her wedding Dia said, “Boman will be performing all the duties and rituals of the father during my wedding ceremony. It was a promise that he had made to me when we did Raju Hirani's Lage Raho Munnabhai together.”
Dia, who is enjoying every bit of the wedding festivities said, "It has been the most beautiful experience of my life. The mehndi was all about the dhol, tappa, gaana followed by a Sufi Qawwalli. It was a magical experience."
“Boman Irani is someone who I've always called pop and share a special bond with. When we were shooting for Lage Raho Munnabhai, he said, ‘Whenever you're getting married, I'd like to give you away.' So, he's going to perform all the rituals that a father needs to perform at the ceremony”, added the actress
The actress looked beautiful in Ritu Kumar's creation at her mehendi and Anita Dongre's lehenga at sangeet. As per speculations she will be wearing Ritu Kumar on her wedding day too.
Like every bride Dia too is feeling the same nervousness of bride and confessed, “It's hard to describe my joy right now. So much of what I am feeling right now is an extension of what my loved ones is feeling. I feel special and loved and very blessed. The venues for the wedding ceremonies are private farm houses. The guests are just family and close friends. I am meeting some of my relatives from my dad's side of the family for the first time. It's so wonderful to be surrounded by family. Sahil has a large family. But I've realized over the past few days that the family I've made over the years of genuine friends out-numbers Sahil's biological family."
After the wedding the bride and groom will be celebrating Diwali in Delhi itself and will give a lavish reception in Mumbai for friends from industry. As per sources the duo will be go for honeymoon at the time of New Year.
