New Delhi, Feb 24 : His turn as the funny goon, Circuit, in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Munnabhai' series made him a household name but Arshad Warsi says that he is tired of doing comedy and is scouting for serious roles now.

The actor is gearing up to don the black kurta and gold chains once again for the third installment of the series but rues that his immense popularity as Circuit means that most of the producers want to bank on the image.

"I am tired of bad comedy. I am fed up of it because I have done too much of them. I need a break. I want to do something different and serious. Something that I did in 'Seher'," Arshad told PTI.The 42-year-old actor has also been a part of comedies like the 'Golmaal' series and 'Dhamaal'.

Even though he wants to shrug off his comic tag, he is looking forward to 'Munnabhai Chale Amerika', which pairs up Sanjay Dutt as the good-hearted goon Munna and Arshad as his sidekick.

"'Munnabhai...' is likely to go on floors in September. I will start working on it soon. Honestly speaking I love the character of Circuit. But playing him once again is quite scary for me. People have huge expectations and it is a big challenge to live up to it," he said. With 'Ishqiya' where Arshad pleased the critics and 'Golmaal 3' which was a box office success, the actor has had a good year in 2010.

Arshad is looking forward to his forthcoming movie 'F.A.L.T.U', directed by ace choreographer Remo d'Souza. He plays the character of Google, the one stop destination to find solutions to all troubles. He has actors Riteish Deshmukh and Jackky Bhagnani as co-stars in the film which is set to release on April 1.

Arshad is currently working on the sequel to 'Dhamaal', titled 'Double Dhamaal'. Some more projects are in the pipeline."There is 'Double Dhamaal' and couple of other projects that I cannot talk about now," he said.Asked whether he was offered 'Satte Pe Satta' to be directed by Sohum Shah, the actor said, "I have not read the script yet. I might take up the film."

Arshad, who married TV host Maria Goretti in 1999 and has two children with her, admitted his wife is his biggest critic.Maria made a special appearance in Siddharth Anand's 'Salaam Namaste', which starred Arshad in a supporting role.Asked about any further plans of them acting together, he answered in the negative.

"Maria does not like all this. She keeps on asking me how I manage to act all the time. She is pretty happy being herself and being at home," said the actor. PTI
