New Delhi: The romantic movie lovers are going ga-ga over Varun-Alia's ideal tribute to the ‘baap' of all love story ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' in the name of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' which has garnered Rs 20.27 cr at box office.

According to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, Shashank Khaitan directorial debut's weekend total must stand around Rs 33 cr in domestic market.

“HumptySharmaKiDulhania is ROCKING. Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 11.25 cr. Total: Rs 20.27 cr nett. India biz. Expecting Rs 33 cr [+/-] nett weekend. WOW!”, tweets Adarsh.

For Varun Dhawan this will be the biggest opening weekend after Main Tera Hero which collected Rs 22.73 cr in first three days of its release.

“MainTeraHero opng wknd Rs 22.73 cr... week 1 Rs 38.48 cr... #HumptySharmaKiDulhania should touch Rs 33 cr [+/-] in opng wknd itself. SUPER!”, confirms Adarsh.

Varun-Alia's magic has worked immensely and while the supporting cast including Ashtosh Rana as Alia'father and Gaurav Pandey, Sahil Vaid as Varun's pals have worked as a surprise package in the flick.

On the other hand, Ek Villain in its third week is keeping the cash registers ringing, however, it has witnessed an expected downfall and is overshadowed by the above release, but it has already achieved what it expected and now anything it fetches further would be commendable.

While in first two weeks it minted Rs 101.32 cr, on its third Friday and Saturday it managed Rs 1.5 cr and Rs 1 cr respectively.

Next week it's sleazy thriller sequel of Hate Story starring Surveen Chawla, Jay Bhanushali and Sushant Singh. The flick has created huge buzz among fans for its bold content however, the flick is a revenge saga as asserted by its makers. But till then Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania would fill in the pocket of its makers with great profits.
