In the box-office battle between Tubelight and Baahubali 2, Salman Khan starrer has scored a win. The Kabir Khan directional venture will release across 1200 screens abroad, which is 100 screens more than Baahubali: The Conclusion. The Indo-China war drama is set to spread its wings wide in the overseas market with a 1,200-screen release, confirmed Amar Butala, COO of Salman Khan Films, according to a report in Mid-day.
However, the good news just doesn’t stop there. Salman fans can rejoice a lot more. Besides winning over Prabhas’s film, with 1200 screens aboard Tubelight enjoys being the widest release for any Khan starrer film till date.
As Salman’s Eid gift is all set to release on June 23 with whooping screens across borders, let’s have a look as to how the film can conquer the worldwide box-office.
Zhu Zhu- The Chinese connection
One of the biggest factors that will help Tubelight in gaining hold of the international box-office especially China is its Chinese connection, an expert revealed. “Zhu Zhu is a big name in China. It's the Indo-China war and it's a film with a universal theme - that of brotherhood. It's a lethal combination for Salman. It won't be surprising if it does over 700-800 crore in China itself”, the expert was quoted as saying to DNA.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh is all praise for the film. "Salman Khan is taking big steps with each of his films. His last two releases, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' (2015) and 'Sultan' (2016), were phenomenal hits in the overseas market. Tubelight is in the same bracket."
The filmis one of the most awaited films of the year and marks the third collaboration of Salman and Kabir after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger. It also stars Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu and Matin Rey Tangu in lead roles.
