This talented actor bags a role in Akshay Kumar's ‘Gold’

Actor Kunal Kapoor, who is receiving praises for his amazing body transformation for ‘Veeram’, has bagged a role in actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming sports drama ‘Gold’, say reports.

Actor Kunal Kapoor, who is receiving praises for his amazing body transformation for ‘Veeram’, has bagged a role in actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming sports drama ‘Gold’, say reports. The movie will be helmed by ‘Talaash’ director Reema Kagti.

According to latest reports, Kunal has started prepping for his role and is taking hockey lessons to fit into the shoes of professional hockey player. Reports further added that the actor will be training for almost five-six months before starting filming for the flick.

The movie will narrate the story of Indian hockey team led by Balbir Singh, which won the first Olympic medal for India as a free nation in 1948.

It these reports turn out to be true then both Akshay and Kunal will be working together for the first time.

Speculations were rife that Khiladi Kumar has also roped in actress Swara Bhaskar for a pivotal role in the film. But, she denied all such reports through her post.

Directed by Reema Kagti, ‘Gold’ is bankrolled by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and will hit the screens on Independence Day next year.

Akshay recently wrapped up ‘Toilet - Ek Prem Katha’ opposite Bhumi Pednekar and is currently shooting for ‘Padman’ which is his wife and actress Twinkle Khanna’s first home production. Kunal was also seen in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’.
