Just like Swara Bhaskar said in one of her interviews, there’s no single girl on the Earth who hasn’t been sexually harassed in her life. Even the actresses on such a high pedestal feel vulnerable and unsafe.

The recent incident of actress Sonarika Bhadoria being harassed for over eight months, puts another question mark on women’s safety in our country. As per the reports, a 23-year old man from Kurkheda has been caught by police for sending lewd and objectionable messages to Devon Ke Dev Mahadev actress Sonarika Bhadoria

The deranged man is a college student who had this strange fetish of marrying an actress. He somehow retrieved the actress’ number last year and started harassing her over phone. He even sent vulgar images to actress via messages.

Sonarika blocked his number, but the ‘Roadside Romeo’ was too stubborn to subside. He kept on pestering her with calls from different numbers. This led the actress to file a police complaint this February.

"The accused was constantly sending objectionable and obscene messages as well as photos to the actor since October 2016. She got scared of the messages and blocked his number several times, but he would use different numbers to harass her. The actress then visited us in February and registered the complaint," a police official told Mid-day.

With frequent cases of women facing sexual harassment and molestation, the status quo of women safety in India remains at a standstill.
