The Eid blockbuster of 2016 ‘Sultan’ has entered the Rs 300 crores club. As on Tuesday the movie starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma will earn Rs 300 crores in India since its release on July 06.

By earning such an amount, this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has become the third Bollywood movie to enter the coveted Rs 300 crore club.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted this news:

Reports have it that ‘Sultan’ has earned nearly Rs 792 crores globally surpassing the global collections of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which was around Rs 626 crores.

Now, we know that ‘Sultan’ has already become an ‘All Time BlockBuster’ but this movie has been particularly rewarding for the lead actors. This movie has proved that Salman and Anushka are the most successful actors of today in the film industry.

As Salman and Anushka have become the only two actors to have two movies in the Rs 300 crore club. The other two movies are ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘PK’.

While Anushka was a part of ‘PK’; Salman played the protagonist in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

At a time when actors are finding it difficult to have one movie in the Rs 100 cr club, a feat which not even A-lsiters are achieving today, these numbers talk volumes about the stardom of Salman and Anushka.

It should be noted that unlike other Salman’s movies in which the female lead doesn’t get a meaty role; Anushka broke the norms. Her role of Aarfa was appreciated by many. Though initially critcics showered brickbats on her for not being ‘feminist’ enough, she shot them with epic replies. Anushka said that feminism is about the freedom of choice.

As far as Salman is concerned, ‘Sultan’ has proved the obvious, that when it comes to box office numbers no one can match him. ‘Sultan’ is his tenth consecutive movie to earn more than Rs 100 crores and his second to mint Rs 300 crores in the India.

Salman has already booked the next Eid release with Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ and it would be obvious to hope that the movie does incredibly well at the box office.
