The film opened with Rs 4.02 crore and is doing slow but decent business at the box-office. The weekend collection of ‘Phillauri’ was more than three days collection of women centric films like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Sarbjit’. Kangana Ranaut starrer fetched Rs 13.96 crore and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s film minted 11.27 crore over the first weekend.
Anushka’s production house Clean Slate Films has taken projects that are rich in content and innovative. ‘NH10’ also became successful due to its powerful story and now ‘Phillauri’ is also doing a decent business. Though these movies, Anushka is making her place as a young producer in the cinema world.
‘Phillauri’ stars Diljit Dosanjh along with Anushka and this can be considered as one of the reasons of film performing well in North India as the actor is very popular there.
