Actress Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Naam Shabana’ has minted Rs 18.76 crore in its first weekend. The film has received mixed review and is doing a decent business at the box office. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on social media.
The film opened with Rs 5.12 crore and collected Rs 6.37 crore on Saturday showing the growth of 24.41%. On Sunday, ‘Naam Shabana’ minted Rs 7.27 crore making the first weekend collection of the film Rs 18.76 crore.
Trade Ananlyst took to micro-blogging site Twitter to shar the numbers. He tweeted, “#NaamShabana is DECENT... Sat growth: 24.41%... Sun growth: 14.13%... Fri 5.12 cr, Sat 6.37 cr, Sun 7.27 cr. Total: ₹ 18.76 cr. India biz.”

The film is a spin-of based on Taapsee’s character Shabana from 2011 film ‘Baby’. The actress impressed the makers with her 20-minute role in ‘Baby’. Thus, a full-fledged film is made on her character. Taapsee is seen playing the protagonist in the film. With high -octane action sequences and some powerful dialogues, film managed to impress the audience. Numbers speak for themselves and thus, it shows that people are liking Taapsee as Shabana.
The film featured actor Akshay Kumar in a cameo who managed to do justice with his part. Along with Taapsee and Akshay, ‘Naam Shabana’ also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher.
