Megastar Rajinikanth’s recent release ‘Kabali’ is doing wonders. One of the most anticipated movies of the year, ‘Kabali’ was release last Friday amidst the much fan frenzy.

The ‘Thalaiva’ fans went crazy about the movie and went on to watch ‘Kabali’ with FDFS ( First Day First Show). After the magnum opening of the movie, soon the focus shifted to its box office earning. As expected, ‘Kabali’ crashed several box office records.

The movie became the most successful release of the year 2016, as far as the first week collections were concerned.

However, despite such humungous collections at the box office, ‘Kabali’ failed at two points.

Yes! ‘Kabali’ FAILED to beat 2015 release ‘Bahubali’.

While the Rajinikanth starrer minted Rs 48.95 crores, S.S Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali’ created a history in 2015 with a collection Rs 50 crores on its day of release.

It was a close shave for ‘Bahubali’.

On the other hand, ‘Kabali’ couldn’t surpass the first weekend of ‘Bahubali’ as well.

According to a report published in India Today, Rajinikanth’s don saga has earned a whopping amount of Rs 114 crore in the first week. However, ‘Bahubali’ was way ahead of ‘Kabali’ with a gross collection of Rs 197 crore.

Both ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Kabali’ have been the most talked about movies in Tollywood and it was a direct competition between the two.

However, considering Rajinikanth’s popularity and fan frenzy, it was expected that ‘Kabali’ will beat ‘Bahubali’ to become the blockbuster Tollywood movie.

But looks like, Rajinikanth’s don saga failed to overcome the charisma of Rajamouli’s royal war drama.
