In a startling incident, Jewellery worth Rs 80 lakh has been allegedly stolen from the residence of Kiran Rao, wife of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. The Khar police in Mumbai have registered an FIR based on a complaint that jewellery worth Rs 80 lakh was stolen from the house of superstar Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao, a Mid-Day report.
Based on a complaint by Kiran’s father, the police have registered an FIR under Sectiion 453 (theft in dwelling house) of the Indian Penal Code.
Kiran and Aamir live in an apartment on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai. The incident relates to November 24.
According to the complaint, Rao discovered last week that a ring and a diamond necklace, with a combined value of Rs 80 lakh, were missing from her bedroom. Following this, her relative filed a complaint at the Khar police station.
The police are currently investigating the case, with the domestic helps suspected to have committed the crime.
According to the report, three of the helps have been questioned frequently in the list five days and the police are not mentioning what exactly the missing jewellery items are, keeping the questions vague.
Those being questioned have been identified as: the household cook Farzana, Rao’s assistant Suzanna, and domestic help Jhumki.
The police have also visited the homes of the three in their quest to find the missing necklace and ring but have not come up with solid leads so far.
