There is a buzz that a UAE-based Indian businessman is going to fund the most expensive Indian film ever at a cost of Rs 1000 crore.

The epic will be the most expensive Indian film ever produced.

Bollywood as an industry has grown tremendously. With a lot of funding coming its way, film making is a lucrative proposition. With big companies and production houses catching a fancy to it, the budget of movies is increasing by the day.

There is a buzz that a UAE-based Indian businessman is going to fund the most expensive Indian film ever at a cost of Rs 1000 crore. The magnum opus will be based on the epic ‘Mahabharata’ and will be directed byadvertising film maker V A Shrikumar Menon. It will be produced in two parts and is scheduled to go on the floors by September 2018 for a release in early 2020.

The second part will be released within 90 days of the first.

Titled "The Mahabharata,” the film is being produced by UAE-based Indian businessman B R Shetty.

Till now, the most expensive film we were hearing about was Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0. Here are other expensive Indian films:

2.0, the sequel to Enthiran is going to be the second most expensive Indian film. In Robot (Enthiran in Tamil), Rajinikanth had a double role, and this time, it's rumoured that he has five different roles in the film. Buzz also has it that Akshay Kumar is being paid more than Thalaiva in the film.

Baahubali: The Conclusion

The film has been made at a budget of Rs 250 crore. It is one of the biggest movie production undertaken in India. Baahubali, it's sequel that was originally released and was a blockbuster, was made with a budget of Rs 180 crore.

The Dhoom franchise has always had audience flocking to theatres. Made qwith a whopping budget of Rs 175 crore, the film had Aamir Khan as the villain and Katrina Kaif as the leading lady and rest of the cast was the regular Dhoom cast.
