Eid-al-Adha is a festival celebrated by all the Muslim communities around the world. It is also known as ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ as its history dates back to Prophet Ibrahim who agreed to sacrifice his own son to God. After the intervention of angels, his son was switched with a sheep. Ever since then, Muslims all around the world sacrifice a goat or a sheep to God to express their faith and loyalty to him. Amid the air of festivities all around, Bollywood celebrities took to social media to wish the masses. Many popular names like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor wish their fans on Eid al-Adha. They also wished that this year will be filled with joy, love and peace for them.

Eid-al-Adha is celebrated around the world following the footsteps of Ibrahim’s sacrifice and strength of faith. The Muslim communities sacrifice a goat. The meat is distributed into three parts. One-third is consumed by the family, the other third is distributed among friends and relatives and the remaining third is provided to the destitute.
