Police have arrested a graphic designer from Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh for allegedly stealing nine minutes of raw footage of ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and releasing it online, according to media reports. The complaint against the graphic designer was filed by director SS Rajamouli at Jubilee Hills police station in Hyderabad.
The sequences that were allegedly leaked by the designer, believed to be employed by Hyderabad’s Annapurna Studios, are reportedly a part of the climax of the movie. Since the leak, the sequences have expectedly gone viral.
Since the filming of the sequel started, SS Rajamouli is said to have taken strict precautions to prevent any kind of leak. In his bid to do so, he banned the cast and crew from bringing cell phones to the sets.
Despite taking such measures, images from the sets of this magnum opus had surfaced on the internet in September. The pictures hinted that the second instalment is set to be bigger as compared to the earlier one.
The sequel of ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ is undoubtedly highly awaited by cine goers. The first part of the fantasy series was released in the year 2015 and minted around Rs 650 crore worldwide.
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, in pivotal role, ‘Baahubali’ was set in the fictional city of Mahishmati and was a tale of power, love and sacrifice. The first part ended on a thrilling part of Baahubali’s confidant Kattappa stabbing him to death, leaving audience anxious to learn why it happened.
Since the release of first part, many theories about Kattappa killing Baahubali have been doing rounds of media. In fact, Rajamouli is constantly bugged with this question too. He had once revealed that there were many sub plots to this decision of Kattappa, which will be revealed only in the second part.
‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ will release on April, 2017.
