Akshay Kumar to host The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, will not replace Salman Khan on Bigg Boss

Akshay Kumar has no plans to replace Salman Khan on his show Bigg Boss and is all set to host The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

Akshay Kumar, who is basking in the glory of his previous release Jolly LLB 2, is now all set to entertain fans on small screen as well for another time. Akshay will now be seen hosting The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. 

Earlier rumours were making rounds that Akshay will replace Salman Khan from Bigg Boss and will host the reality show. Putting all such rumours to rest a source close to Akshay informed that he has already signed the TV show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and will soon begin the shoot. 

In a statement released form the source it was said, “Akshay is enjoying a great time in the world of movies, television and endorsements while living every moment of it. This recently signed TV show is an extension of that. Soon enough, he would be beginning shoot for it as well.”

Sharing the news with his fans Akshay wrote on his microblogging site Twitter, ‘’Kya aapki comic timing perfect hai? Mujhe talaash hai aapke jaise best stand up comedian ki. #TheGreatIndianLaughterChallenge @StarPlus.’’

Clarifying the reports of Akshay replacing Salman Khan on Bigg Boss the source said, “Akshay has always maintained that if it is about work, he would be the first to let the world know about it. Still, there are so many speculations and rumors that end up spreading. Let it be said on record that Akshay is not signing up for ‘Bigg Boss’. Colors and Endemol maybe having certain plans for their super successful reality show. 

However, Akshay certainly doesn’t have any plans whatsoever of his own. He is doing Star Plus’ The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and that’s about it.”

On work front Akshay is all set for the release of his forthcoming film Toilet Ek Prem Katha, which is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s  Swach Bharat Abhiyan. Meanwhile, Akshay has also started the shooting of his next project Gold starring Mouni Roy.
