New Delhi: Bollywood filmmakers get only 52 weeks to release their respective projects, so clashes are bound to happen. These box office clashes garner more attention when two A-listers are concerned.

This big box office clash of not two, but three stars was scheduled to happen on Republic Day of 2017. Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho; were slated to hit theatres on 26th January 2017. This had created quite a frenzy among trade experts and fans of Bollywood.

However, from what we hear, it is not going to happen. Apparently, the three movie clash is now restricted to two. Reports in media say that Ajay Devgn has postponed the release date to March.

This delay in Baadshaaho’s release might have something to do with the bonding between SRK and Ajay, pictures from Bulagria of which surfaced last year. An insider told a leading daily that Baadshaho won’t be ready till January, hence the delay.

Said the source;

“Ajay is mostly shifting the release because Baadshaho won’t be ready in January. The makers are now eyeing for a March 10 release. Ajay is now shooting his directorial venture Shivaay which he will wrap by June. He begins shooting for Baadshaho in July end- early August. His film with Remo D’Souza co-starring Sooraj Pancholi too goes on floors this September. So he will be juggling between the two films and it is highly improbable that Ajay’s Baadshaho will be ready in time for a January release. That’s why they have taken a call to shift the release date.”

As far as the clash with SRK and Ajay are concerned, the last one of ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and ‘Son Of Sardar’ proved fatal for the latter. YRF had acquired most theatres restricting the release of Son Of Sardar. But, one can say that it is unlikely that history would be repeated. Shah Rukh’s movie ‘Dilwale’ was defeated by Ranveer Singh’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Also his, last release ‘Fan’ turned out to be a disappointment, so giving a blockbuster hit is very important for King Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees will still clash with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ as Rakesh Roshan has made it clear that they will not shift the date. He has said that they booked the date earlier and it was being said that he was upset with SRK too for going head on with his son.

By moving Baadshaho to March 10, Ajay will lock horns with Karan Johar’s movie Badrinath ki Dulhaniya starring young stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. This, however is not the first instance when Ajay will go head on with Dharma at the box office. His directorial, Shivaay and Karan’s ambitious project Ae Dil Hai Mushkil are vying for the same spot.
