Muzaffarnagar:  A 30-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by six men in Kadli village here, police said today.

 
The victim was returning to the village with her brother-in-law yesterday when six persons intercepted them.  They looted Rs 35000 from her brother-in-law and raped her in a nearby sugarcane field, they said.
 
A case has been registered against six unidentified persons and the victim has been sent for medical examination, said police.
 
Incidents of rape have been on the rise in Uttar Pradesh and the state government has been saying that they are taking all steps to enforce law and order in the state.
