Agartala: Cash and jewellery were detained during separate raids in the houses of the three officials working with School Education Department in connection with a multi-crore school scam, a police official said today.
Documents of numerous bank accounts and jewellery worth Rs three lakh were seized from the houses of those three officials yesterday in connection with the multi crore scam in the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijyan (RMSA) under School Education department, SDPO (Sadar) Rajendrajit Dutta said.
On the other hand, arrest wasn't made against anybody during the raids carried out at the same time in the houses of Additional Director Dilip Debbarma, Deputy Director cum Drawing and Disbursing Officer Amalika Dutta and Joint Director B R Debbrma, in-charge of RMSA, he said.
The cashier of RMSA Arnab Chakraborty, was earlier arrested from Kolkata who had allegedly siphoned off Rs 3.5 crore by forging cheques.
