Lucknow: Burglars broke into the house of Uttar Pradesh Inspector General of Civil Defence Amitabh Thakur, IPS, and decamped with cash worth Rs 50-60,000 and ornaments belonging to his wife.
The couple had gone to Ghaziabad for two days. On their return to Lucknow Thursday morning, they found their house in Viram Khand, Gomti Nagar, ransacked, with most of the locks broken, said Nutan Thakur, an RTI activist.
Gomti Nagar police, field unit and dog squad were rushed to the spot. So far the burglars have not been traced.
