Uber rape case: Girls asked to stay indoors whenever accused Shiv Kumar Yadav visited his native village

Ramnagar (Mainpuri): The terror of Shiv Kumar Yadav, Uber cabbie accused of raping a woman executive, was such that parents of his native village had asked their daughters to stay indoors whenever Yadav visited his home.

Uber taxi driver Shiv Kumar Yadav is a serial sexual offender with multiple charges of rape, attempted rape and molestation lodged against him. He was booked  under the Goondas Act and Arms Act in past.

Whenever Yadav visited his native village, he used to pass lewd comments, pull duppatas of girls and even do worse if got the chance.

Shiv (32) is a resident of village Ramnagar in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh.

Reports say that parents at Ramnagar asked their daughters, sisters, whenever he visited his native place, to stay indoors to protect themselves from wrong habits of Shiv.

Some years back, the local police had to extern(also known as tadipaar/zilabadar) him from the area.

At the Elau police station, under which Ramnagar falls, a string of criminal cases have been lodged against the rape accused driver. He has two sexual assault cases registered against him, apart from cases for carrying illegal firearms and brawling.

Besides, Shiv Kumar had had also spent seven months in Delhi's Tihar Jail after being charged with rape.

In Delhi, police officials said that six cases against Shiv Kumar have come to light and they suspect there could be even  more cases pending against him.  

Since 2013, Shiv Kumar hadn't returned to Ramnagar as he opted to reside in Delhi with the widow of his elder brother, whom he married.

Yadav's father, Ramnath Yadav, was a school teacher, who retired as headmaster of the local municipal school. He had asked him to leave home. Yadav's mother, Gangashree, 70, says that she can't face the shame and would rather die.
