Two women killed by speeding train in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: Two women were crushed to death and a woman was seriously injured when a speeding train hit them while they were crossing a railway bridge near Mansoorpur railway station in the district, police said today.  

The mishap took place yesterday when a group of five women from Azmat Gharh village were going to collect their Aadhar cards to Nara village, police said. 

Taking a short-cut, these woman decided to pass through a railway bridge when the speeding train came and hit three woman, killing two on the spot and injuring one, police said adding that two other women sustained minor injuries as they jumped into a canal.

The deceased have been identified as Raj Kali (60) and Bishamri (62), while Mamta (30), who was injured is admitted to a government hospital and her condition is said to be serious, police said.
