Ghaziabad: In yet another incident of corporal punishment reported from Ghaziabad, a Class IX student has lost his right eye after he was brutally beaten by a teacher for not completing his homework.

According to victim's mother, Rajni, the incident had taken place in Shambhu Dayal Inter-College on August 21.

She said that her son was writing Mathematics homework when Hindi subject teacher, Virendra Nagar, entered inside the classroom and asked him what he was doing?

“My son innocently replied that he was doing his homework of Mathematics as he (Hindi teacher) was not in the class. The Hindi teacher started beating my son. He banged my son's head against blackboard following which his right eyebrow started bleeding,” she said.

The 15-year-old student was later sent to his home after providing medicine and first aid treatment for the cut near eyebrow.

When Rajni took him to the MMG Hospital in the evening, doctors on duty refused to treat him saying it was a police case.

Next day, she took her son to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi where doctors said that irreparable damage caused by the bleeding cannot be restored.

Meanwhile, police has registered a case against the teacher and the college management under Sections 326, 323 and 506 of IPC.
