A woman constable has accused a police inspector of molestation and sexual harassment in Muzaffarnagar. The constable has also said that the accused threatened her saying he will get her out of job if she lodges complaint against him.
She has written to state women commission and the Prime Minister regarding her complaint.
The constable and the accused named Ranveer Tomar work together in the police control room. The constable alleged that the accused inspector sought sexual favours from her, and when she protested he threatened her of damaging professionally.
"Inspector Ranveer Tomar sought sexual favours from me. I protested and demanded apology. Out of shame I didn't tell this to anybody. But, he again created troubles for me. He molested me and threatened me with dire consequences," she said.
Senior officials are probing the case. However, they have refused to speak anything on the issue.
