Rohtak (Haryana), Jul 14: The chairman of  Indraprastha College of  Education, Rohtak, Yogendra Dalal  today brutally beat up a B.Ed. student Rakesh Ranjan, of Bihar, after the latter objected to Dalal manhandling a female student.

Today was the Yoga practical exam, and the students were being asked to pay up to Rs 5,000 in order to pass the practical test. As some girls protested, the chairman ordered that the girl students must do the shirshaasan ( a yoga posture in which the person has to stand on his or her head).

When a girl student protested, Dalal manhandled her, and Rakesh Ranjan objected to this.

The chairman then dragged Rakesh Ranjan to his room, where he brutally thrashed him with a stick.

Meanwhile, other students called in the police, who came after an hour. The police admitted Rakesh Ranjan to a hospital with injuries, but meanwhile the chairman vanished.

Enraged students  stopped vehicular traffic on the Jind bypass for some time to protest this attack.

Police has promised to arrest Yogendra Dalal.
