Indian kid tried stabbing mother after she cut off his internet access

New Delhi: How would you react if your smart phone is snatched away from you, leaving you stranded with no access to your social accounts… err life?

One would start cursing, or probably plan to wipe out the reason which led to all this. But will you be killing a person, just because he/she forced you to stay away from your virtual world?

For instance, can someone be too sick to hurt their own parents?

A 15-yr-old kid living in Pune stabbed his mother after she turned off his internet connection and tried snatching his smart phone. Outraged over this, he attacked her with a kitchen knife.

Thank God! No fatal wounds were found, but what comes as a brutal shock is the reality behind the entire incident. The case clearly highlights the hazardous psychological problems caused by excessive dependence on technology.

These days' school kids as young as 6 or 7 years old are dependent on their phones and tabs for spending some leisure time, instead of.

Mental health experts warn that such addiction especially in younger children might lead up to some dreaded outcome in their later lives.

The accused child had been spending most of his awaken hours on either his smart phone or tab engaged in various apps such as WhatsApp, LINE, WeeChat, Viber), through which he came in contact with over more than 500 people, most of whom he had never met in person.

When his mother had enough of his addiction, she tried to force him away but it all back fired. She is still in a state of shock.

Kid's parent however tried to take him to a psychiatrist, but the kid instead stripped naked forcing the entire place into chaos protesting his parents decision.

According to experts, kids these days are becoming more and more dependent on social media as their source of knowledge and social life foraying them away from reality.

We just can sit and wonder how much aggression would be needed to even think of hurting individuals, even your own parents for such things.
