Mumbai: Mumbai Police claimed to crack the murder mystery of a woman in Borivali area last week.

Police arrested Rajendra Karanjekr alias Raj, a resident of Jogeshwari, for murdering Seema Patade at her residence in Borivali on Friday.

According to police, the arrested accused is friend of the deceased's daughter, Mansi Patade.

Police said that Raj and Mansi had met on the social networking site Facebook earlier this year.

At the time of incident, Seema was alone at her home as her husband was out of station and daughter Mansi was at college. Raj visited Manis house on Friday and stole gold jewelleries from one of the bedroom. After sensing amiss, the victim confronted him.

The accused smothered Seema with a pillow, police said, adding that the motive of the murder was robbery.
