New Delhi: A 20-year old Mumbai based girl was rescued on Monday from Nagaur after she was allegedly lured by a tantrik on the pretext of getting rid of the ‘bad luck'.

According to the police, the girl who was pursuing engineering in architecture was in touch with the accused from past five months after a close relative of the girl died.

The accused Mohammed Saied alias Sheikh, who belongs to Nagaur, posed himself as a tantrik and coaxed the girl saying that the evil spirits are bringing bad luck to her.

The girl under the accused's influence agreed to go along with him.

The girl's family lodged a complaint in Thane's Kadawa police station, after which the Mumbai police along with Nagaur's Kotwali police started chasing the accused on the basis of his mobile location.

The accused along with the girl was arrested from the local bus stand in Naguar.

While the police has lodged a case of kidnapping against Sheikh, they are also investigating to find out the real intentions of the accused.
