New Delhi: An unusual case has come into light recently about a 23 year-old law student who had hanged herself in her Rohini home on may 30. The case had got buried in police files until a video suicide note discovered by her family on her iPad just days ago shed some light on the tragic happening.

Neha reportedly shot the video minutes before hanging herself. In it, she has blamed a man and a woman for having “misused and tortured” her and driving her to suicide. Police have now registered a case of abetment to suicide under Section 306 of IPC and begun a fresh probe.

“The iPad has been sent to CFSL for examination.

We are trying to trace the mystery couple. But we first want to confirm if the video was shot around the time she committed suicide,” said an officer.

Neha's mother has alleged foul play and demanded a thorough investigation.

“Police are trying to down play it. It's been so many days but police still have no clue. Neither have they arrested the persons named by my daughter in the suicide note. We have handed over all documents to them,” her mother said.

Police said the incident took place in the intervening night of May 29-30. “Neha was last seen in her bedroom at 11pm on May 29.

Neha's mother came down to her room at 2am but did not find her. She went to the washroom and found it shut. When she did not hear anything, she raised an alarm,” said a police officer.

Neha's brother and father forced the door open and found her hanging from the shower head. “We severed the rope with a knife and took her to the nearby Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital where she was declared brought dead,” her brother said.

Sources said that Neha had used words like “being mentally pressured” and “blackmail” in the video.

“She says, ‘Papa, I love you; mummy I love you, bhai I love you. I am sorry. Don't let them escape. (Names withheld) say they have lots of contacts and they would escape but I wish they are punished,” a source quoted her from the note. Police are trying to ascertain if what she has said amounts to abetment to suicide.
