New Delhi: A 25-year-old man involved in a murder and robbery case was arrested here, while two of his associates involved in the crime are still at large, police said Saturday.

Ashish Tomar, a resident of Uttam Nagar in west Delhi along with his partners Sunny Dogra and Raju, both in their 20's, robbed a courier company employee of around Rs.80,000 and shot dead a passerby who tried to intervene.

The incident took place Sep 23 on the Old Palam road in south Delhi when the victim was on his way to deposit the money in a bank.

"The victim was on a motorcycle and was intercepted by the trio, who too were riding a motorbike. As the pillion rider tried to snatch the bag containing cash, the victim raised an alarm and a passerby tried to intervene, but was shot dead (by Dogra)," a police officer said.

"Two rounds were fired at the victim as well, but he escaped unhurt," added the officer.

According to the police, the accused had an information that the courier company employee would be carrying around Rs.12 lakh in the bag.

Meanwhile, the police received a tip-off that Tomar would be coming to Kapashera border to meet a friend Oct 3. A trap was laid and he was arrested.
