Lucknow: A man on Wednesday hacked his wife to death and attacked his 8-year-old son in inebriated condition in Barwatola village of Sonbhadra district.

Bhuili Devi (35) was killed by her husband Jagjivan Prasad during an altercation between the two. The couple shared a difficult marital life for over a month. The culprit would often come home and beat his wife.

The situation got out of control when Prasad eventually decided to get rid of her permanently. Hence he hacked her to death.

Prasad also attacked his son Parmeshwar (8), who got injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

A case has been registered against the Prasad, who is absconding.
