Mathura: A wild goose chase began on Saturday morning, after an employee at the Yamuna Expressway Toll plaza barrier noticed a white-coloured Scorpio with three men and a woman near Khandauli, Agra.

The Scorpio with number HR51 AQ 5156 stopped  at the barrier at 8:39 am. People present at the plaza noticed a man resembling Narayan Sai, the absconding son of Asaram Bapu, sitting inside the Scorpio.

As the staff proceeded towards the vehicle, the Scorpio driver fled with the vehicle breaking the barrier, towards Mathura. The Station Officer of Khandauli police station who was travelling in his car at that time followed the Scorpio, but the SUV outdistanced him very fast.

The SO immediately informed his seniors over phone. Then began checking of vehicles at Mathura and Runakta (Agra), according to SO Sikandara.

On information received from Agra DIG camp, checking barriers were set up on NH2 near Mathura and all vehicles were checked.

Inside Mathura, police vehicles rushed on the roads with hooters screaming, and barriers were set up on both the Agra-Delhi highway and Yamuna Expressway.

The checking went on for three hours on the borders of UP adjoining Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi, but police failed to catch Narayan Sai.

UP police believes Narayan Sai is staying somewhere in and around Agra. The cctv camera at Khandauli toll plaza has the pic of the Scorpio and the hand of the driver.
