Three common convicts in Shakti Mills gangrape case have been sentenced to death by Mumbai court for repeated offence.
Rape accused Siraj Rehman has been awarded life term.
Shalini Phansalkar Joshi, the principal sessions judge has convicted Vijay Jadhav (19), Kasim bengali (21) along with Mohammed Salim Ansari (28) under section 376 (e) of the Indian Penal Code for gang rape.
The three had also been convicted earlier over the gang rape of a telephone operator at the Shakti Mills compound and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Section 376 (e) of the Indian Penal Code had been introduced after the 2012 Delhi gang rape case, attracts maximum death penalty, which deals with repeat offence of rape.
