Ahmedabd: In a macabre incident, four devotees of Lord Krishna belonging to a single joint family in Anjar district of Gujarat's Kutch region, committed suicide by hanging themselves on Sunday night  before poisoning their three kids to death. Only two daughters survived, who had gone to school.

Police said, a well-to-do family consisting of two brothers Radhu, 32, and Lakhu, 30, lives with their wives Laxmi, 30, and Kanku Ben, 26, in Ningal village. On Monday morning,  all these four devotees of Lord Krishna were found hanging inside their house.

Normally, the entire family used to play devotional songs every day inside their closed house, but on Wednesday, when no sound emerged, the neighbours tried to contact them, and later called in the police, which broke open the doors and found them hanging.

The two brothers and their wives had poisoned Shashwat Lakhu,4, Prachi Lakhu, 5, and Shyam 7 years.
