Krishnagar (WB): A 17-year-old examinee of a higher secondary school at Phulia in Nadia district was shot dead yesterday by unidentified bike-borne assailants for protesting their attempts to tease two girl students of his school.

"Ajay Ghosh, a class-XI student of Phulia Vidyapith, was drinking water from a tap in the school premises when unknown gunmen appeared on a bike and shot him from close range," Superintendent of Police Sabyasachi Raman Mishra said.

A profusely bleeding Ghosh, a resident of Bhoot Colony at Phulia, was taken to Ranaghat Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
