Police found the girl chained with an iron chin that nearly weighed 5 kgs.
The girl when asked by police said she was beaten with a stick by her 70-year-old father whenever she protested over his drinking.
Police arrested Laljiram (70) from his house in Piplia village, around 45 km from Ujjain.
The girl was identified as Santoshi who used to stay with two other siblings with her father in Ujjain. Their mother had passed away.
The girl also said that her father gave her just one chapati for lunch and one-and-a-half for dinner.
