Cop's purse stolen, husband waits at bus stop, catches thieves

New Delhi: The husband of a woman sub inspector of police, whose purse was stolen at a bus stop, spent two days at the same spot to identify the thieves and then nabbed three women when they were trying to rob another victim.


SI Maninder Kaur, posted with special police unit for women and children at south Delhi's Nanakpura, was returning to home in Jal Vihar near Lajpat Nagar after casting her vote through postal ballet at Gole Market on April 4.
     
"The woman boarded a bus from Nehru Nagar stop. Three women stood close to her throughout the journey and quietly removed her purse containing Rs 8,000 in cash. Unaware of her purse being stolen, she deboarded the bus at Lajpat Nagar and reached her home," said a police official.
     
It was only after some time that she received a call from her colleague at Nanakpura who told her that her purse was found by a person on the top of his car.
When she reached the spot, she found the purse but the cash was missing, police said.
