Juvenile teenager loses hand in Mumbai Children's Home

Mumbai: A juvenile teenager brought from Telangana Children's Reformatory to the Children's Home in Dongri here has lost his hand in a mishap.

Sources said, juveniles staying at the Dongri Children's Home are forced to do menial work.

The teenager lost his hand while working on a roti warming machine, sources said.

He is presently undergoing treatment in J J Hospital.

Dongri Children's Home has been in the news in recent times for all the wrong reasons. Girls between the ages of 14 and 16 are not given any undergarments, and those given to them by their parents or well-wishers are taken away.

The inmates are forced to drink water from a tank inside the lavatory, sources said. They are served food with worms inside.
