Ghaziabad: A 32-year-old jeweller was allegedly shot dead by unidentified persons in Raj Nagar Extension area of Ghaziabad.

The body of Karuna Karan Verma alias Rinku was found last evening inside his car by a police patrol team, Superintendent of Police (City) Shiv Hari Meena said.

Verma, who owned a jewellery shop in Shyam Park Extension area of Sahibabad, had left home last evening saying that he was going to meet someone in Ghaziabad, the officer said.  Later, his body was found at the driving seat of the car with a bullet wound while his licensed revolver, two mobile phones and purse were missing, he SP said.

A case of murder has been lodged against unknown persons by Verma's father.
