Hyderabad: A 23-year old woman was brutally murdered by her husband for denying her divorce in Hyderabad yesterday.

According to the police, the accused, who was a pani-puri vendor, was not happy with his wife, Archana, and wanted to marry another woman.

The victim refused when her husband asked for divorce, the accused burst out with anger and thrashed Archana to death by hitting her repeatedly with a pressure cooker and a granite slab when she was asleep in their house at MA Nagar in Miyapur late on Tuesday night.

The incident was reported to the police after the neighbors found Archana lying dead in her house.

The case is being investigated further by the police.
