Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said he would accept any decision of a judicial commission if formed by the Pakistan government while his party said it would resume talks with the government.

"We will accept the findings of the judicial commission even if it concludes that no rigging took place in the (2013 general) elections," Imran Khan said in joint press conference here with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the wake of Tuesday's horrific Taliban attack on an army-run school that left nearly 150 people, mostly students, dead.

Imran Khan said that his differences with the government were not personal in nature and that the Peshawar tragedy made it imperative for all the parties to stand together against the scourge of terrorism.

He said despite other differences, all parties stand as one against the threat of terrorism.

"I had also expressed agreement on the war against terrorism when Mian Sahab (Nawaz Sharif) had come to see me in the hospital," he said, adding no institution can win the fight against the menace of terrorism alone.

He said funeral prayers in absentia will be offered for the martyrs of Peshawar tragedy at his ongoing sit-in in Islamabad.

On the issue of alleged rigging in the general elections of 2013, Imran Khan claimed there was unanimity among all the parties forming the incumbent parliament that the polls were rigged, but added that he would accept it if a judicial commission formed in this regard decided otherwise.

The end of the deadlock in the negotiations between the PTI and the government was announced in Islamabad Wednesday with negotiators from both sides set to meet later Wednesday.
