Noida: In a shocking incident, a 65 year old woman was allegedly shot dead  in broad-day light by two bikers for not giving them cigarette.

The elderly lady, Mishro Devi ran out of cigarette on Friday afternoon. She was filling in for her son at the grocery store as he had gone to Bulandshahr for the day, police said.

The police said that two men on bike came up to her wearing helmet.

While one of them went to the shop to ask for cigarettes, the other remained behind with the motorcycle. When Mishro Devi checked her store for cigarettes, she didn't find any. When she told him, the man allegedly lost his temper and opened fire at the woman.

The accused fired two bullets at her, killing her on the spot. "One bullet was lodged in her head and the other just above her abdomen. She fell on the ground instantly," said a senior police officer.

Police said there was one more woman at the shop at the time, and the accused fired in the air as a warning shot. Then they fled. On hearing the gunshots, passersby rushed to the scene and found Devi's body in a pool of blood. They took her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

The police is investigating the case.
