The FIR has been filed against the woman's husband Dheeraj Chaparwal and father-in-law Bharat Chaparwal, who was a former Vice Chancellor of Devi Ahilya University here, in connection with alleged domestic violence and for demanding dowry, Superintendent of Police (East) O P Tripathi told PTI.
The victim Roopa Chaparwal has filed the FIR with the Sanyogitaganj police station, he said.
A case under section 498 and 506 of IPC was lodged against them and investigation is underway, Tripathi said.
Rupa, who worked in a hospital here, has alleged in her FIR that her in-laws and husband tortured her mentally and physically for dowry, the SP said.
