Diamond businessman's maid jumps from 23rd floor in Mumbai Cuffe Parade

Mumbai: In yet another alleged brutal maid torture case, a 19-year old maid servant ended her life by jumping from her employer's house located on the 23rd floor in posh Cuff Parade area on Thursday. .





Chandra Pawar was employed at diamond merchant Ramesh Bhulchandani's residence in Maker Chambers.

At around 12:40 am, Chandra jumped from the building. The loud noise was heard by  security guards who found the young woman lying on the ground.

Chandra was rushed to G T Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Chandra stayed with her parents and two siblings at Amedkar Nagar slum area in Cuff Parade. She  had been employed at Ramesh Bhulchandani's house since the past one and a half years to look after his grandchildren.

She earlier worked as a part time maid but later she was kept as a 24-hour domestic help.  She was given a weekly off on Sundays.
