Ghaziabad: The body of a 35-year-old factory worker was today found in a gunny bag on Gadhi-Kataiyya Road of Loni town, police said.

The deceased, identified as Mustakeem, had gone missing after leaving home yesterday morning. His body was found today stuffed in a gunny bag with arms and legs tied up, SHO Loni Police Station Gorakhnath Yadav said.

Preliminary investigation revealed he was thrashed and later strangulated to death, police said, adding bruises and injuries were visible on the face and head of the victim.

Police said Mustakeem was murdered in Delhi and his body was later dumped in Loni.

The victim was a native of Bijnor and had moved to Seelampur three months ago with his wife and two daughters owing to financial difficulties. He was working at his brother-in-law's factory.

An FIR under section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered on the complaint of his brother Naushad against unidentified assailants.

A pocket diary was recovered from the corpse, police said, adding, the body has been sent for postmortem.
