New Delhi, Jan 29: A Delhi court in Karkardooma today gave a three-year jail sentence to Congress MLA Mateen Ahmed and his associate Zameel Ahmed on charge of rioting and obstructing government officials on duty.

The incident dates back to 2001. The court imposed Rs 10,000 fine on the accused. They were granted bail by the court.

Out of the total of six accused, two died during trial, two others were acquitted and the remaining two were convicted.
