Bangalore, Aug 13: The Bangalore police have solved the JP Nagar double murder and made three arrests in connection with the killing.

S Venkateshaiah 74, and his wife Swarnambha 68, were found murdered on Friday in their JP Nagar house.

A special team of the JP Nagar police arrested three persons, Guru Prasad, Salman and Nikesh, in connection with the murders and also recovered 250 grams of gold from their possession, which they stole from the house.

The trio were called to Venkateshaiah's house to clean a sump on August 6. While they were cleaning the sump, they planned to rob the house as the couple had no children and would not be able to defend themselves.

Later, the trio went to the house and when Venkateshaiah gave them the money, they refused to take the amount and said they want more money and the gold jewellery his wife was wearing.

When the couple refused to give the gold and more money, Guru Prasad and his friends attacked them.

The couple ran to the kitchen, but the trio pulled them back to the bedroom where they smothered them with a blanket, and then slit their throats.
