The gold bars  had gone missing from a security van which was being taken from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.

The security firm had received an air consignment of 500 kg gold from Mnemonic Secure Logistic (MSL) Private Limited in New York on September 28.

The gold was kept at their strongroom in Sahajanand Complex in Nava Vadaj. Around 9 pm on Wednesday, a Securitrans van left for Mumbai with the consignment. It was driven by Manu Hadiyol.

Yadav, Roopchandani and gunman Rajveer Rajput also accompanied the consignment.

When the vehicle near Shastrinagar market, Yadav heard a noise. He stopped the vehicle to inspect and realised that a consignment of 25 gold bars was missing. It had fallen out through a hole in the floor of the van, above one of the rear wheels.
