Rohtas, Apr 9: Satyendra Singh, a retired BSF jawan, killed his daughter's lover Manoj Pandey and his nephew Bittoo and threw their bodies into an unsued pond alongwith salt to hide his crime in Jamori village near Natwar of Rohtas district in the last week of March, police said.
Manoj Pandey fell in love with Singh's daughter Pooja, and the father objected to the relationship citing caste differences.
Pooja and Manoj were friends since their childhood days and the relationship grew as both of them reached adolescence.
As part of a conspiracy, police said, an invitation was extended to Manoj to attend a Chaita (local folk programme during Chaitra) in Pooja's village. Manoj and his nephew attended the programme.
Satyendra Singh caught hold of both and murdered them. He then threw the bodies in an unused pond alongwith salt to hide his crime, police said.
On March 26, Manoj';s family contacted the police, after which the bodies were retrienved from the pond on Saturday. Satyendra Singh has confessed to his crime.
